  • Published and disseminated a Policy Brief on California AB 1142 to over 1000 local, regional, and statewide policy-makers regarding HIV/AIDS interventions and programs for African Americans.

  • Through partnership with the Inland Empire HIV/AIDS Nubian Coalition, AAHI-SBC conducted strategic policy advocacy to change local and statewide policies related to service provision, access to care, and funding allocation for HIV/AIDS.

  • Partners with Time for Change Foundation on local, regional, and state level advocacy for policy changes targeting formerly incarcerated women and their children.

  • Statewide advocacy with the California Department of Managed Care Office of Patient Advocate (OPA) for access to appropriate healthcare for African Americans.  For more information click here

    Statewide initiative with the California Department of Mental Health to engage people of African ancestry in developing a strategic plan to reduce disparities in mental health.   For more information click here

  • AAHI-SBC organizational member on the University of California, Riverside Chancellor’s community Advisory Board for the development of a new Medical School which will be designed for medically underserved minorities.

  • Conducted community public policy advocacy training; 229 participated.
